We live in a very judgemental world

Since this blog will address the portrayal of celebrities in tabloid magazines, it only seems right to have a member of the Spears family as the subject of the first entry.

Surprise, surprise it is not Britney. No, this time the buzz is about Jamie Lynn. Okay, she is 16 and she is pregnant, GET OVER IT! More shocking things have happened. These magazines need to stop focusing on the fact that she made a mistake and recognize that she is accepting it and handling it like an adult. How many 16 year olds do you know that would have the courage to keep the baby?

Just because she is in the public eye doesn’t mean she won’t make mistakes. People are ridiculing her because she was engaged in pre-marital sex, well guess what it’s 2008 and times have changed. Now a days this is the “norm”. Okay, so she could have been a little more careful and prevented this, but just because she got pregnant it doesn’t make her a bad person and it doesn’t necessarily mean she is following in the footsteps of her misunderstood sister. The media is criticizing her because she is a “role model” to young girls, but just because she is a role model doesn’t mean she is perfect. The girl is human maybe everyone should cut her some slack.

The latest news published in the January 21 edition of OK! magazine is that her boyfriend and assumed father of the unborn child, Casey Aldridge “ wants to purpose and get married” but it makes me wonder is he only doing that so they can stop being harassed and embarrassed by the media? I feel like the media may be the reason behind his desire to get a ring on Jamie Lynn’s finger. Who knows, maybe then it will be more socially accepted. For now, what I think is that the media should leave the young girl alone. Think about it, she is 16 years old and pregnant she must be scared out of her mind and on top of it all now she has to worry about all this negative exposure, it just doesn’t seem fair to me.

For once maybe someone should judge the people writing these stories and see how they feel. Dig up all the dirt on these “journalists” and let them see how they like being exposed!

I can’t wait to see who the target is next week.
